SUPERMAN II TV DEBUT
April 13, 1982– Less than a year after its U.S. theatrical opening (June 19, 1981), and six months after the first home video release (October 12, 1981), SUPERMAN II makes its world television premiere as the theatrical version airs on the QUBE interactive cables service in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S., six months before national premium cable channels would screen it (January 1983). An event is held at Warner Bros. headquarters in Pittsburgh, and Christopher Reeve flies his own plane there to be in attendance.
