Save the Clock Tower - BTTF Bluray release -

25 years ago, one film changed the way people thought about time travel. The device was intended to be a refrigerator but instead a "futuristic looking" vehicle was chosen. This vehicle has become an icon in film history and the movie itself has inspired several homages, parodies, and television shows.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that on October 26th, 2010, you can now take a trip back in time with the Back To The Future - 25th Anniversary Trilogy.

All three films feature newly restored 1080p widescreen versions with newly remastered DTS-HD Master Audio English 5.1 Surround sound.

Nearly all of the special features from the previous DVD releases will be included in this release except for the DVD-Rom supplement.

New to Blu-ray Disc is the BD-J interactivity of U-Control which consists of:

= Setups and Payoffs: Think you know the films inside and out? This feature "sets up" items in a scene that become part of a future plot point. Then the "payoff" is revealed later.
- Storyboards
- Did You Know That? Animated Anecdotes Trivia Track

There is also BD-Live capability which includes:

- My Scenes
- pocket BLU

Retail is still TBA at this time.

Can't wait for this!

The special edition looks excellent. From PLAY.com:

"This Collectors Edition Tin Includes A Delorean blueprint, An 'Outatime' number plate, The Sports Almanac, Save The Clocktower poster & A Lenticular photo of Marty's family plus much, much more!"

Not bad for £45.

There's also a DeLorean edition which is on PLAY and amazon.de, which appears to be the special edition as well as a model car.

An from BTTF.com, writer Bob Gale says:

“I’m sure fans will enjoy the new documentaries, which include interviews with cast and crew members who — for budgetary reasons — were left out of the 2002 documentaries,” he explained. “So there are some stories and anecdotes told on camera for the first time. And since everyone wants to know, there are three very brief snippets of Eric Stoltz incorporated into one of the documentaries.”

I've waited a long time to see this, I hope there's enough footage to get a real impression of how he was playing the character.
